A brick and shingle estate home deep in the woods outside Monroe, reached over a private bridge, with a courtyard fountain, stone and timber interiors, a wall of windows to the trees, a detached garage and a fire pit overlooking the property. The home closed in November 2021 at $1,500,000.

Deep in the Pacific Northwest woods outside Monroe, behind a gated entry and a paved drive, this custom-built forest estate sits on more than 16 acres with a private pond and a running stream. Inside, 85 windows and vaulted ceilings fill the rooms with light, radiant floors run throughout, and traditional design meets modern comfort. More than 2,000 acres of protected land border the property, so the privacy is there for good.
I represented the sellers. We listed in June 2021 and closed in November 2021 at $1,500,000.
Forested estates in Snohomish County take patience. The buyer pool is smaller, the showings are longer, and the home has to be presented so the setting reads as privacy rather than isolation. We hit the market hard and didn't cut any corners: the film from the air and on the ground shows the bridge, the water and the way the house sits in the trees. Then it was a matter of keeping the listing fresh, handling the showings and negotiating to a close that worked for the sellers.
