The home and the sale

An estate on 24.28 fenced acres outside Monroe, with a pool and covered outdoor living off the main house, a barn with stalls, paddocks, a multi-bay garage with workshop space, and open pasture running out to the tree line. The listing film was shot from the air and on the ground. The home came to market in September 2021 and closed in February 2022 at the full list price of $2,500,000.

In Chase's words

I didn't even know this property existed until the owners invited me up one afternoon. 24 private acres outside Monroe, in Snohomish County: a custom rambler with countryside views, a heated pool with a rooftop deck and a step-up patio with a hot tub, two barns with twelve stalls, seven fenced paddocks, two gated entries and a 4,000-square-foot shop with office space, a paint booth and a car lift. It is a masterpiece, a testimony to decades of hard work and dedication.

When the owners first talked about selling, I tried to talk them out of it. We looked at subdividing and selling off lots, but cutting up the property and still living there didn't make sense to them. Once they decided, we hit the market hard and didn't cut any corners: film from the air and on the ground, full photography, and a price we could stand behind.

We listed in September 2021 and had a cash offer, then got a rescission on December 23, the day before Christmas Eve. I had one job: get back on the market and find another buyer. We relisted January 3, 2022, had six or seven showing requests right away, and procured a second cash offer. That one closed in February 2022 at $2,500,000, the full list price.

I represented the sellers on this equestrian estate, and the relationship that came out of it is one I still cherish.

We're at the Webber Crest farm. It's closing day and I can't wait to share the story of this. It means a lot to me and finally it's the day of closing and a new chapter begins. It's wild how one moment you meet somebody and you never would have thought that building a relationship or what it was going to turn into. And I think that's the story of this. This was never expected to be a sale, right? Like I didn't even know he had this home. And then one day he invited me up here and it was the coolest thing. So for them to turn the next chapter and realistically, I mean, it's 30 years of hard work that they put into this property. I mean, they built it from the ground up, Chris and Nancy, two successful careers. After hours they'd be out here and they built a dream and he promised Nancy something that would blow her mind. When they first bought the property, it wasn't that. And in my opinion, it is the one of the most unique equestrian properties I've ever bought. Chris is extremely talented, right? I mean, he's an artist, anything he touches, he's good at. About 20 years ago, they built this 4,000 square foot shop and he produced all of the artwork, anything in Nordstrom’s and we've all seen it. It was built out of this shop. Chris is one of those guys that he legitimately can see two or three hours a night and he would go back and put in another, you know, 22 hours. And to see somebody that has that vision and dream and they fought for it and they put in a lot of hours, it didn't happen overnight for him, right? I mean, it's 35 years of blood, sweat and tears into this property. And to see this, it gives me hope, right? It's a wild story of how I met Chris and then, you know, obviously come to meet Nancy and get to know them. When he first talked to me about selling, I did everything I could to talk him out of selling, right? I thought it was such a unique piece of land, let alone the buildings and what they made it into. We looked at doing everything as subdividing and selling off some lots and it was too much to cut the property up and still live here. It meant too much and all the hard work and love that him and Nancy put in, it didn't make sense. They finally came to a decision that they were going to sell. So getting ready to list, it was an easy home to list, right? Everybody loves looking at beautiful property. So we definitely didn't cut any corners on our end when it came to listing video photos and representation. We received multiple offers, finally got a cash offer. December 23rd, 2021, the day before Christmas Eve, they sent a rescission. When that deal fell through, they were in the process. They were on a video call in Arizona. They were about to submit an offer on that home and I called them. I said, I just got a rescission. The clients are backing out emotional roller coaster for them. I had only one option to get back on the market and go procure another buyer. We got back on the market, January of 2022, January 3rd, we got six or seven showing a request and we ended up procuring another cash offer and that one closed. So they finally able to turn that chapter and go move to the sunny state of Arizona. One thing getting into real estate I never would have anticipated was the relationships I was going to get out of this, right? I love Chris and Nancy and I mean, I just didn't, I didn't anticipate this and it's like one of the coolest things with real estate, you know, to get ingrained into somebody's family and it's not for a sale, right? I mean, obviously to accomplish their hopes and dreams and what their next chapter looks like. It's amazing to be a part of that chapter, right? And it means the world to me. This relationship I cherish and it means so much and my little daughter, she looks up to him as like another grandma and grandpa and I'm so thankful. I'm blessed. I'm thankful.
